Our renowned arid substrate, developed through extensive in-house research over five years, has been on the market since 2019. It serves as the perfect substrate for arid or semi-arid reptile habitats. The mix is enriched with essential nutrients that promote the growth of desert plants and aid in heat retention to increase ambient temperatures. The substrate's organic compostable materials provide a rich food source for microfauna such as isopods, which in turn contribute to the nutrient cycle & fostering plant growth. Plants that are adapted to arid and drought conditions can be planted directly into the substrate, eliminating the need for additional soils or mixes. Moreover, the substrate's low water requirement negates the need for a drainage layer.
